A big thank you to the judges and the Guns.  As good shooting can make or break a Trial, Morgan, John, Alan & Martin.

Also the day couldn’t run smoothly without the help of stewards & game carriers, Ray, Mason, Joanna & Karen.

Also our sponsors: Skinners Dog Food and Gamekeepers Goods for their lovely gundog prizes.

A cold frosty start with the sun making a welcome appearance as the Trial started, which made for fabulous hunting conditions for the spaniels.  Lots of birds & scent, dogs hunting through ferns & bracken.

Unfortunately  1st place was not awarded, there were only 4 competitors left at the end of the Trial, who all received awards.

The Trial ran on a ground of mixed cover crops, light woodland & hedgerows. The game came to hand nicely with

a few rogue hares that put a few dogs out.  The sun shone which was a gift after the heavy rain and wind the day before.

Thank you to the judges, James Luxford & Craig Killpack.  Also to all the helpers and the Keeper for allowing us to use this lovely ground for the Trial.

A Big thank you to Chris and the Woodbury Shooting Syndicate and the Helpers, Joanna, Ian & Paul who gave up their time to help run the Trial.

The Trial was in Woodland with reeds, bracken and at times heavy bramble.  The dogs all showed incredible hunting and marking, with a few birds that tested a true Open standard.  The day was cold but dry, so luckily there wasn’t any wind or rain to battle through.

Thank you to Ben, the Keeper and Carol for their hospitality and delicious game casserole. Also to Terry for providing bacon & sausage butties, tea & coffee, a welcome breakfast after a long journey. Many thanks to Liam, the Chief Steward, Helpers and Game carriers, Ray, Sam, Joanna & Lynne.  Appreciation to the guns, Keith, June, Chris & Andy. It`s no good having the flushes, if the guns can`t give the dogs retrieves. Huge gratitude to the Judges for giving so freely of their time and experience. Our Generous Sponsors were Skinners Dog Food and Gamekeepers Goods, who provided lovely gundog prizes for the winners. Trial took place on beautiful countryside with lots of hills, on a sunny day.  There was plenty of scent, with spaniels hunting through a variety of cover, fields of cabbages, turnips, kale, white grass and woodland.  Only 4 dogs were put out.
