Despite an extremely wet day, the excellent ground and cover gave plenty for the dogs to hunt with many pheasants hiding in the maize & sunflower crop. Many thanks to the Guns for shooting in such challenging weather, the Judges, Walter Harrison & the Shooting Syndicate for allowing us to use their lovely ground and for generously giving up their time.

Good Luck to John Rees and Byrbwll Peaky Blinder in the Cocker Championships in January.

A very challenging day for many with only 3 bitches left out of a starting field of 16 as many were reluctant to hunt the bramble or ran in. Congratulations to Tommy Giles who has qualified for the Springer Championships in North Yorkshire. Thank you to Paul Marsh, the Keeper for welcoming us onto his ground, the Stewards, Guns and Game Carriers who helped on the day and to the judges especially Margaret Cox who stepped in at the last minute as an A panel Judge.

A very windy day but luckily, we managed to finish the Trial before the rain set in,  although quite a few slipped up in the mud or got wet crossing the stream and the marsh. A beautiful setting in the Devon countryside and hills with a variety of cover to put the little cockers through their paces – thanks to Gareth Stevens for allowing us to use his ground. Thank you to the judges, guns, helpers and stewards for their time.

A final thanks to our Field Trial Secretary, Martin Ashman for successfully coordinating four Spaniel Trials this season – we look forward to the 2022 Field Trial Schedule.
