Many thanks to the Judges, for helping out at short notice. Thank you to the guns, for shooting for the Trial ensuring all the spaniels got a retrieve. A great sporting day for the little Cockers with a variety of cover. Much appreciation to the Helpers, Joanna, Ryan, Howard and Paul. An exciting 3 dog run off between Simon Jones, Jeremy Davies, and Nicki Hunter, all the dogs hunted well, a difficult decision for the Judges. There were lots of pheasants to test the Spaniels steadiness on making a challenging Field Trial. Well done to all the competitors the ground was quite wet and boggy in place, so everyone did well to manage to stay upright! Heavy rain from the previous night and during the day made the birds reluctant to flush. The pheasants were tucking in tight, with the heavy rain making it difficult for the dogs to pick up the scent. Only 3 cockers finished with a run off between Paddy Williams and Jeremy Davies for 1st<\/sup> place. Well done Paddy and Ruby. Thank you to the Judges, Guns, and Helpers. Also, to Keeper Paul Marsh for welcoming the Club to the ground once again. A misty foggy day with plenty of scent. The trial was set in woodland which gave challenging hunting ground with plenty of cover and pheasants for the spaniels. This was a first Field Trial for many of the young spaniels. The team of Guns shot well ensuring plenty of retrieves. Thank you to judges Wesley Thomas and Steve Brankin for giving their time and experience to the competitors. A big Shout Out to Field Trial Secretary Martin Ashman for organising and reorganising the Venue with many last minute changes to the card.
